The fight scene is laughable. I didn't really buy it when the girls cried, "We'll kill you! " The acting is subpar, and the writing is sub-even-that. I imagine, due to the storyline, scenery, and time period that this film must have been an offering to the totems of Tiki Culture, but who knows? At any rate, if you accept the film as it is, it is a pretty neat flick. Recommendation: While the movie is playing, daydream that these women are about to come and throw themselves at you personally. Lewis, it probably would have been an outright skin flick (Florida was the capitol of nudie filmmaking in the 60's). But 1959 fell a few years short of the sunshine state's boom in that particular genre, and so instead we get a lot of sunny locales mixed in with bad acting, an underwater scene of a woman fighting an alligator (whose jaw has clearly been wired shut to prevent it from biting her) and some "ape men" who look just like regular men with some dirt smeared on their faces.
